A Place Where Your Child Is Truly Known

Choosing a preschool is about so much more than finding a place for your child to spend the day.

You’re looking for people you can trust.

People who will learn your child’s little quirks. Who will notice when they’re having a hard morning. Who will celebrate when they finally master something they’ve been working on. Who will listen to their stories, answer their endless questions, and make them feel safe enough to be themselves.

That’s what we’ve always wanted Shiny Little Stars to be.

About Shiny Little Stars Early Childhood & Preschool

Since 2005

Since opening our doors in 2005, we’ve welcomed hundreds of children and families into our school. Over the years, one thing has never changed: we want every child who comes through our doors to feel that they belong here.

We don’t want your child to feel like just another name on a classroom list.

Our Mission

We want their teachers to know what makes them laugh. We want to know what they love to play with, what they’re curious about, what they’re proud of, and what might make them need a little extra encouragement that day.

Because those little things matter.

And when your child feels known and cared for, something wonderful happens. They become more comfortable asking questions. They’re more willing to try. They begin to trust themselves.

That is where real learning begins.

What Matters Most to Us

Connection Before Everything Else

Before your child can confidently explore, learn, and make friends, they need to feel safe.

We take the time to build genuine relationships with your child because we believe children learn best from people they trust.

Your child doesn’t have to walk through our doors ready to do everything on day one. We’ll meet them where they are, give them time to settle in, and help them feel comfortable in their own way.

Some children run into the classroom on the first morning without looking back.

Others need a little more time.

Both are completely okay.

Childhood Should Feel Like Childhood

We believe young children should have plenty of time to play, imagine, get curious, make discoveries, and sometimes get a little messy.

That doesn’t mean they aren’t learning.

Quite the opposite.

When your child builds a tower, they’re learning about balance and problem-solving. When they pretend with friends, they’re practicing communication and cooperation. When they ask “Why?” for the tenth time, they’re learning to be curious about the world.

We create opportunities for these moments every day because some of the best learning happens when children are having fun and don’t even realize they’re learning.

We Care About the Little Things

The preschool years are filled with little moments that may seem small to adults but feel very big to your child.

The first time they make a friend.

The first time they speak up in front of the class.

The first time they write their name.

The first time they solve a problem on their own.

The first time they walk through the classroom door with a big smile instead of holding tightly to your hand.

We notice those moments.

We celebrate them.

And we know that each one is helping your child become a little more confident, independent, and ready for whatever comes next.

Meet the Founders

Ms. Magda - Founder & Head Teacher

If you ask Ms. Magda what she loves most about working with young children, she’ll tell you it’s getting to know who they really are.

With a degree in Child Psychology and extensive experience in Early Childhood Education, Ms. Magda brings a deep understanding of child development to the classroom. But her greatest strength may simply be the way she connects with children.

She has a calm, patient way of making children feel comfortable. She notices the child who is quietly watching before joining in. She knows when a child needs encouragement and when they simply need a little more time.

She believes that behavior always tells us something.

A child who is having a difficult morning may need reassurance. A child who keeps asking questions may be especially curious. A child who doesn’t want to participate right away may simply need to know that it’s okay to watch first.

Understanding those differences is part of what makes early childhood education so meaningful to her.

Ms. Magda wants your child to feel safe enough to try, make mistakes, try again, and eventually discover, “I can do this.”

And there’s nothing she loves more than seeing that moment happen.

Ms. Lumi - Founder & Director

Ms. Lumi has always been drawn to learning and discovery. Her background in both the sciences and early childhood education has shaped the way she thinks about children and their natural curiosity.

She believes children are born wanting to understand the world.

They touch things. They ask questions. They wonder what will happen if they mix this with that. They notice things adults sometimes overlook.

And she believes we should encourage that curiosity rather than rush past it.

As Director, Ms. Lumi cares deeply about creating a school where children feel comfortable asking questions and where families feel comfortable asking questions, too.

She wants parents to feel that they can walk through our doors, talk with a teacher, share a concern, celebrate a milestone, or simply tell us about something wonderful their child did over the weekend.

Because raising young children is a partnership.

We’re here to support your family, not just care for your child during the school day.

More Than a Preschool

When Ms. Magda and Ms. Lumi opened Shiny Little Stars in 2005, they wanted to create the kind of school where they would feel comfortable leaving a child they loved.

A school that felt warm.

A school where teachers knew the children well.

A school where families were welcomed by name.

A school where children could be little.

Over the years, that vision has grown into a community of hundreds of families.

We’ve watched children arrive shy and leave with confidence. We’ve watched friendships begin in our classrooms and continue for years. We’ve celebrated birthdays, first words, first friendships, first performances, and countless “look what I did!” moments.

We’ve also had the incredible privilege of seeing siblings come through our doors.

And sometimes, years later, we meet a former student who comes back to visit and tells us how much they remember about their time here.

Those are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

A preschool is only one chapter in your child’s life.

But it’s a very important one.

And we feel incredibly lucky to be part of it.

Our Promise

We Start With One Question

What is in the best interest of your child?

We ask ourselves this question often.

When we plan our classrooms.

When we choose what and how to teach.

When we talk with your family.

When your child is having a difficult day.

When we’re deciding whether to encourage them to try something new or give them more time.

It keeps us grounded in what matters most.

Your child.

Our promise is simple: we will care for your child with the same thoughtfulness, patience, and respect we would want for our own.

We will listen. We will encourage. We will celebrate the little victories.

We will help your child through the hard moments.

We will give them room to be curious, creative, silly, thoughtful, independent, and completely themselves.

And we will never forget that while preschool is a big part of your child’s day, you are their most important teacher.

That’s why we want you to feel like part of our community, too.

We’d Love to Meet Your Family

We could tell you all about Shiny Little Stars.

But honestly, we’d rather show you.

Come walk through our classrooms. Meet the teachers who may one day know your child’s favorite book by heart. See the children playing and learning. Ask us anything that’s on your mind.

You can take your time.

Choosing a preschool is a big decision, and we want you to feel comfortable asking questions and getting to know us.

Most of all, we want you to be able to picture your child here.

Walking through our doors. Making friends. Discovering something new.

Growing a little more confident every day.

And, before you know it, coming home with a story to tell you about something wonderful that happened at school.

We’d love to meet your family and get to know your child.
